Representatives from the ministries of energy in Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon discussed, through video conferencing, the executive procedures related to activating the Arab Gas Pipeline and supplying Lebanon with its energy needs.

The Ministry of Energy explained in a statement on Friday that the technical meeting discussed the final timelines for starting the experimental pumping operations for this project. The Deputy Minister of Energy for Oil Affairs, Ghiath Diab, confirmed that the Syrian network is at the highest levels of readiness after completing the necessary technical tests along the entire route extending from the Syrian Jordanian border to the Lebanese border.

He pointed to the strategic importance of this project, explaining that it is considered a vital lifeline that strengthens economic integration among these countries, while Syria continues to play its pivotal role and to serve as a safe and stable transit country for regional energy.

Energy Minister Mohammad Al-Bashir confirmed the day before yesterday that the resumption of gas pumping through Jordan, maintenance work, and the balanced use of electrical energy have all contributed to supporting the improvement and stability of the electricity grid in most areas of Syria.
