BEIRUT: MP Nawaf Al Moussawi, accompanied by a number of gunmen, stormed on Saturday night a police station in Damour where the ex-husband of the lawmaker's daughter, Hassan Al-Moqdad, was being detained.

The gunmen attacked Al-Moqdad, who was injured and later transported to a local hospital in Jiyyeh, according to the police reported obtained by Annahar.

Moussawi’s daughter had contacted the Internal Security Forces who detained her ex-husband for chasing her in the Damour area.

Earlier this year, Hezbollah’s top commanding body suspended the political activities of Moussawi because of his spat with rival politicians in the Parliament.

A number of gunmen involved in the incident were later apprehended by the police.
