Protesters demand new traffic measures after crash in Bchamoun

BEIRUT: Locals protested Friday to demand new traffic measures after a deadly crash on the Bchamoun-Khalda highway left one killed and ten injured on Wednesday.

Witnesses described a out-of-control truck careening on the roadway, knocking cars out of its path.The wounded were transferred to nearby Kamal Jumblatt hospital for treatment; while security forces worked on reopening the road to traffic. The protesters urged authorities to ban trucks from taking the road during morning hours.
