BEIRUT: A Middle East Airlines flight headed to Beirut Friday was forced to make an emergency landing in Istambul shortly after takeoff as a result of a bird strike.
The captain in command declared an emergency and safely landed the ME266 flight at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport, Turkey.
The flight departed from Istambul at 12 pm local (Beirut) time and was scheduled to land at 2:15 pm.
MEA provided accommodation to the passengers on board who will take the next flight out tomorrow.
