BEIRUT: The body of a 23-year-old Palestinian woman was found Thursday buried on the Rmeileh-Saida beach, with members of Lebanon's Internal Security Forces (ISF) arresting her ex-husband who later confessed to the crime.

Zarifa Taleb Zeidan, born in 1995, was last seen alive Saturday, with family members raising the alarm and reporting her missing to the authorities.

Authorities later brought in for questioning her 34-year-old ex-husband, Fadi Al-Ajmi. Al-Ajmi is also Zeidan's uncle.

According to relatives, Ajmi's marriage to Zeidan, was never officially registered.

After days of interrogation, Ajmi broke down and confessed to the murder, guiding authorities to the scene of the crime, a security source told Annahar.

Ajmi reportedly used a knife to carry out the murder.

The circumstances surrounding the attack have yet to be identified, with different motives being touted, from a crime of passion to an act of rage.
