BEIRUT: A fatal car crash on Sunday killed a Hezbollah commander, soldier, and civilian along Tiri- Bint Jbeil road.
Hezbollah sources told Annahar that Khodor Nasser, a local unit commander with Hezbollah, and Nazih Harb, a soldier, as well as Mahdi Salim Fadel, a civilian, died as a result of the accident.
The Traffic Management Center (TMC) tweeted about the accident, using the hash tag (enough is enough).
Insurance claims adjustor Hussein Khanafer, who inspected the accident, told Annahar that “it is probably due to speed,” noting that “The airbag only opens if the car speed was 100km/hour or more.”
"The car including three passengers was moving at an extremely high speed, as it seems,” Khanafer said. He added that “another possibility might be a mechanical problem in the car, which caused it to shift to the right and stay on the edge.”
Head of Yaroun Municipality, Ali Tihfe, confirmed Khanafer’s account.
Ali Harb, former Mokhtar and Nazih’s brother talked fondly about him. He told Annahar: “Nazih was more than a brother. He was my friend, and he took care of us like a father.”
“He was open-minded, and helped everyone. He believed in unity between people,” Harb said.
