BEIRUT: A.N.Boukather Holding (ANB), one of Lebanon's leading auto dealers and a number of car rental agencies, are offering Mazda and Opel rental cars to Lebanese nurses in a bid to provide safe transportation for healthcare workers fighting the coronavirus.
Anthony Bou Khater, CEO of ANB, noted that nurses, who are putting their own lives at risks, and that of their families as well, are facing difficulties with transportation since buses have stopped operating in line with the government’s restrictions to contain the virus. That is the reason why ANB have started delivering the fleet cars to nurses fighting COVID-19 in Lebanon, under the title حملة سيّاراتنا إلكم.
“These heroes can’t just stay home like the rest of us, they’re putting their lives on the line to help all COVID-19 patients and so the minimum we can do is provide them with safe transportation to their jobs. We’ve already started delivering cars to nurses and we expect to help over 120 nurses all over Lebanon, but our number of cars is limited so we urge other rental companies to join the initiative and help us save lives,” Bou Khater added.
Advanced car rental Lebanon and Hala Rent a Car followed with a similar initiative and are offering cars to nurses and doctors.
As of April 2nd, COVID-19 has exceeded 1 million cases around the world, with a clear lag in the healthcare system in several countries, including Lebanon.
