Beirut: Dressed in determination, accessorized with curiosity, and driven by a vision, Paola El Sitt translated her power of fashion and style into a unique website inspiring many young girls and women.

“Way before I was born, my grandmother started a humble business from home and sold clothes during war. Her small endeavor was a mean of hustle to keep her family together after her husband lost his sawmill in Tripoli. Her business flourished into two boutiques,” El Sitt recounted as she explained what inspired her into the fashion industry.

She added: “The story continued with my mother who also, after her divorce, followed her mother’s principles of doing whatever it takes to keep the family going. Hence, I grew up watching two extremely strong women who refused to surrender and did whatever it takes to succeed and protect their families.”

As a child, El Sitt always visualized the woman she wanted to become: she was very curious about everything related to fashion and asked around until she was fully aware about every detail. Her curiosity developed to become a hunger for knowledge, style, and creativity.

“Some people spend a lifetime searching for what they want, one of my blessings is that I knew it at a very young age,” she told Annahar.

El Sitt’s social media presence started to grow when she started implementing her knowledge in fashion through her creative posts. Her active platforms on Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube led her to become one of the leading influencers in the fashion and beauty industry.

As the tattoo “je suis la mode” on her hand indicates, El Sitt defines fashion as not just a piece of garment, but rather a mirror of one’s identity. Hence, after receiving a lot of praise for her style, she translated her identity in a fashion website.

“I once read that if you don’t have an online business, then you don’t have a future business and as we all know we live in a digital world where you are not limited by places anymore. Thus, I decided to go online,” El Sitt explained.

El Sitt tries to take her 25,000 Instagram followers through her journey. She wants them to know that a woman can be independent, educated, strong and still take care of herself. She emphasizes that women can lead their destiny and create their opportunities even if it sometimes seems impossible.

In 2018, El Sitt wanted to offer her followers her own signature product. Thus, she designed her own perfume, which captures the timeless richness of the Middle Eastern culture by combining the citrus freshness of bergamot, lemon, and orange with Mediterranean fruits, warm amber, vanilla, and musk.

Mlle Paola is today a regular fixture on the fashion week circuit and has been featured in many fashion related TV shows in Lebanon and GCC leading to major collaborations with regional and international brands. She believes passion is the main key to her success because even though she studied marketing and minored in film, she was never able to shake her fervor for fashion off.

As for the future, El Sitt is dreaming big.

“I want to keep growing as a businesswoman as I believe my entrepreneurial venture is still fresh and I still have a lot to work on. At the same time, I want to keep growing my circle of influence by empowering women until I can start a political journey,” El Sitt told Annahar.
